Club Notes 15/3/10

RESULTS: Last weekend at the Green School in Tralee, the County Juvenile B was down for decision. We didn’t have a huge number of athletes at the event but with the rugby match, athlete eligibility and other events clashing, it was going to be a small number. Athletes to perform well on the day included the Fitzmaurice brothers David and Niall. Lauren Barrett who is a newcomer to the sport this year was second in the hurdles. As was Sean Quilter who was also second in the hurdles. Shauna Browne was 2nd in the shot at U9 age group. Other athletes to perform well on the day included Luke O’Carroll, Lucy McGrath and her brother Jack. Well done to all who turned up on the day.

Awards Night: The Kerry County Awards night took place last Saturday and a number of our athletes were awarded on the night. Claire Fitzgerald won the Senior Women, Patsy O’Connor Masters Men and Alan O’Connor and Sinead O’Connor won special merits awards. At juvenile Eoin O’Carroll won the best juvenile boy while the club awards went to Kate Boyd and Ger Browne. Our county members of the Kerry League Team were also awarded on the night which included Dearbhail Foley, Ciara Walsh, Sinead O’Connor, Claire Fitzgerald, David Boyd, Dara O’Carroll, Cian Foley, Paudie Whelan, Michael Godley, and Patsy O’Connor.
