Notes 24/1/07 RESULTS: The National Masters Indoor Championships were held in Nenagh on Saturday and our club masters were again very successful at this event. Pat Canty was the top performer on the day taking three medals with gold in the 60m and Long Jump and a bronze in the shot. Patsy O’Connor claimed first prize in both the shot and high jump. Patsy also claimed gold in the shot at the AAI Games the previous week with a throw of 12.96m. Donal Crowley also had a brace of medals in taking gold in both the long jump and high jump. Martin McDonagh took gold in the shot in the O65 category and Shane Rogers claimed a bronze medal in the long jump. TRAINING: Masters indoor circuit training takes place on Mondays in the KDYS hall at 8pm. Juvenile Indoor Circuit training takes place on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Green school. Outdoor juvenile training takes place on Thursdays in Castleisland at 7pm and on Sundays in Mounthawk at 12.30. There is only four weeks to the Munster Indoors so we would ask all to make a big effort to attend over the next month or so. EVENTS: AAI Senior Relays and Indoor Combined Events, Sat 27th Jan, Nenagh; Munster Juvenile U14/U19 Juvenile Indoors, Sat 3rd/Sun4th Feb, Nenagh; Scottish Indoor U13/U15 on Sat 17th Feb and U17/U20 on the 18th Feb; National Senior Indoor Championships on the weekend of 17th/18th of February; Munster Juvenile U12/U13 and U10/U11 Games 24th/25th February. RUNNING LEAGUE : The club is starting a running league for adults on Friday 2nd of Feb from O Donnells roundabout at 6.30pm. The league is based on a handicap league system so everyone gets to compete at their own abilities. But the league is mainly about running for fun and running in groups. There will be two distances available; a ~2.5 mile and a ~3.5 mile circuit and the league will run for a period of nine weeks. If you are interested in competing just show up between 6 and 6.30pm on Friday at O’Donnells.
