Club Notes 28/3/06 Outdoor juvenile training commences at Mounthawk Secondary School from 7:00 to 8:00pm for all Juvenile athletes on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting 4 April. All new athletes are welcome. Masters circuit training takes place on Mondays at 8:00pm at the KDYS hall. The first part of the All-Ireland Juvenile National Indoor Championships took place in Nenagh on last week-end. These championships are confirned to medal winners at provincial level and several athletes from the club took part. Pride of place goes to our two medal winners Claire Fitzgerald and David Boyd. Claire is a regular medal winner at Munster and National levels and added to her collection with a Silver in the U-16 Girls Shot Putt. For David this was his first national medal winning Bronze in the U-18 60m Sprint. David has continued his good progress from last year and is now beginning to reap rewards from all the training he has undertaken over the past while. Congratulations to both medal winners. Other athletes who reached the finals of their events were Ben McGilton (U-17 60m Sprint) and Dara O'Carroll (u-18 400m). Considering these are all-Ireland championships these were great performances and very encouraging for the forthcoming outdoor season. Other competitors who also gave good performances without reaching the final stages were Michael Godley (U-14 Long Jump), Sinead O'Connor (U-14 Hurdles) and Ciara Walsh (U-14 High Jump). Well done to all of you. Next week-end the final session of these indoor championships concludes at Nenagh. Our competitors are Ben McGilton (U-17 200m), David Boyd (U-18 200 m), Andrew Kearney(U16 HJ) and Robert Sugrue (U-18 High Jump). Best of luck to all of you. Entries for the Munster Junior Championships which will be held in Cork on 1 May next need to be submitted by 14 April. Please contact the Secretary if you are interested in taking part.
