Club Notes 9/8/05 National Masters results from Tullamore S. Rogers (V1) 1st in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.70m. P. Canty 1st in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.08m and 3rd in the 200m with a time of 26.25. Padraig Fanning (V4) 1st in the Discus with a throw of 30.26m. Patsy O'Connor (V2) 1st in the Javelin with a throw of 41.23m, 1st in the Shot with a throw of 13.24m, 1st in the 56lb for distance with a throw of 6.74m and 1st in the Discus with a throw of 33.54. Donal Crowley (V4) 2nd in the 400M with a time of 68.67, 2nd in the High Jump at 1.20m, 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.89m. The relay team were 3rd in the 4x100m with a team of P. O'Connor D Crowley S. Rogers P. Canty. Claire Fitzgerald competed in the Celtic Games last weekend in Wales and put in another fine performance coming second in the Shot and Discus. In the shot she threw a new personal best of 11.63m and in the discus she threw over 27m. She will be competing in Birmingham at the AAAs this weekend and best of luck to her in that competition. The Club AGM is scheduled for early September and awards night for October. An Riocht club are holding an international meet on Thursday August 18th at 6.30pm. They have athletes competing from all over the world and this is a great opportunity for locals here to see international athletes of this standard competing so close to home. The meet is part of their official opening so we would encourage people to go see the event and support the club. The event list is on the website (www.traleeharriers.com).
