Club Notes 1/3/05 At The AAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham over the weekend Ben Mc Gilton was 4th in 60m U 15 final and Claire Fitzgerald was 2nd in the U15 shot. At the Munster Indoor Championships for the U12-U14 Age group in Nenagh Ciara Walsh won the U13 600m in very impressive style.She won her heat very easily and she beat the All Ireland champion in the final. She is making a name for herself at indoor middle distance events. Sinead O Connor was 2nd in the U13 60m hurdles final. Again a very impressive display Sinead was also 5th in her 600m heat but given that is was directly after the hurdles final she had probably other things on her mind. Michael Godley was fifth in his heat in the 600m and hurting his leg the previous day didn't help his preparation. He was eight in the Long jump on saturday. Niall Drumm and Eoin Sheehy made the semi finals of the 60m sprint in a very competitive field. Eoin was ninth in the Long Jump. The boys U13 relay team of Eoin Sheehy,Niall Drumm, Gary Nagle and Ciaran Boyd were 5th place overall. Bill Mullins was 7th in the final of the U14 hurdles. Entires for AAI Junior Indoors and Senior Inter Club Relays need to be notified to secretary by March 3rd. Also juvenile athletes who have qualified for the National Indoors can contact the secretary for the dates of their events. An introductory athletics training course is being organised by the county board within the next month or so. The course lasts one day and is an AAI approved course. Any member or parent interested in the course please contact the secretary at 087-6790948. The county awards night is due to take place in the Abbeygate Hotel, 8pm on March 12th. Tickets cost 30 Euro for adults and 15 Euro for kids U13. The club will be presented with six awards so a big turnout would be welcome. Contact the secretary at 087-6790948 for tickets by March 4th. Indoor training resumes on Sunday; 4-5pm for all ages to U12 and 5-6pm for all U13s and older. The County Indoor B are on the 12th of March in the CBS school. This is for all ages U14 down for those who have not won an individual county, munster or national event medal.
