Notes 18/10/05 The county cross country even age took place in Tralee Sports Complex last Sunday and the club were well represented. Stephen Walsh in his first outing at cross country produced a great display to come home 2nd in the boys U14 1500m race. He looked to be heading for 3rd position throughout but a determined finish saw him take 2nd almost on the line. Michael Godley, moving up a year, took 5th in the same race, again putting in a very determined finish to take this position near the line. In the girls U14, Ciara Walsh, also moving up a year, took second in the 1200m with good running throughout. The boys U12 won the team event with good bunching from Darragh Carmody (6th), Jack Barry (7th), Paul McMahon (8th) and Gavin Peevers (10th). This was a fantastic result for the boys as they had very little training up to this point and will surely be a force in the Munsters in 3 weeks time. In the girls U12 Laura Hoffman and Mairead Reidy came in 16th and 18th respectively with support from U11 girls Rachael Patton (22nd), Lauren Walsh (26th), Nicole Patton (27th) and Kate Boyd (30th). This was a first at cross country for most of these girls and hopefully they can go on from here. The boys U10 team came 3rd overall in the 600m. Ger Browne also took an individual medal coming 6th and was strongly supported by Donal Mullins in 10th place, Brian Hill 22nd, and new cross country recruits Jack Carmody 23rd and Michael O Donnell moving up an age to compete.
