Club Notes 14/6/05 The Munster U 9 to u13 Championships were held in a sun soaked CIT in Cork over the weekend and the club had a large a group of athletes from 9 to 13s competing over the weekend competition was of an extremely high standard.We brought 24 munster medals home to the county. On Saturday we had one set of bronze relay medals in the B U10 with David Murphy Roman Loucher Cormac Coffey Donal Mullins and Brian Hill Ciara Walsh brought home a silver in U 13 600M and Sinead was 4th in the same race she also competed in the hurdles and was 5th in the final in the u13 boys hurdles Luke o Keeffe and Niall Drumm were our club representatives they ran well but missed a final berth. In the boys u 10 sprint Roman loucher was 4th and Cormac Coffey was 6th.In the Girls U 11 Sprint Louise O Connor brought home a bronze Courtney Ryan was 6th in the final. In the U 13 Javelin Kieran Boyd was 5th and Michael O Donnell 5th u 10 ballthrow In the U 12 Boys relay Paul mc Mahon Ronan Murphy Danny Pierce and Tom Mc Loghlin were 5th in the final. On sunday competition began at 11 with the sprints and Danny Pierce was first to bring home a silver in the u 11s he followed that with silver in the Long Jump Rachel O Halloran followed that with a bronze in the ball throw Jack Morgan bronze 60m sprint David Murphy gold in the u 10 ball throw and Ger browne silver in the U 10 ballthrow. Luke O Keeffe and Gary Nagle competed in the U 13 LJ Luke made the final 8 and came 7th in the jump off. Along came the relays and Tralee came through with a storming set of boys and girls U 9 relays to win gold in both. The Girls U 9 Relay Gold Medal Team were :Rachel O Halloran Courtney Ryan Orna Foley Orla Sheehy The Boys U 9 Relay Gold Medal Team were Jack Morgan Michael O Donnell Diarmuid O Sullivan Sean Fitzmaurice The Girls U 13 were up next and displayed great courage in bringing home the silver the team were Ciara Walsh Sinead O Connor Hillary White Molly Mc Gilton. Our Girls U 11 team of Kate Boyd louise O Connor Rachel Patton Clodagh Foley made the final so did our boys U 11 team of Danny Pierce Eoin O Carrol Cormac Sheehy and Shane O Sullivan The All Ireland childrens games will be held on Sat July 16th and 17th All Relays u 9 to u19 are on Saturday and Individual Events Sunday. At the national senior relays Catriona Hannifin and Elaine Drumm won gold in the combined triple jump Eoin Leen and Leo Sharkey 3rd in the discus Next club meeting is wednesday 22nd June 8pm at Cumman Iosaf.
