Club Notes 9/6/04

A glorious Bank Holiday Monday in Castleisland for Gneeveguilla open sports saw Tralee Harriers come home laden with trophies. U6 girls Rebecca Ryan bronze in the sprint. U7 girls Kate Sheehy silver in the sprint. U9 girls Sarah Cooper won two individual medals gold in the 200m and bronze in the sprint she also anchored the u9 relay team to take gold. Keeva O Sulllivan won gold in the girls u10 long jump. Sinead O Connor won all around her first in the sprint and the 600m and then gave a great run to win gold with the u12 relay team together with Ciara Walsh who won bronze in a tough 600m. In the u13 Girls shot Karen O Driscoll won silver. Rosie Young came third in a gruelling 800m while the u13 relay team came in a very close second. Sarah Birmingham won bronze in the u14 sprints. Claire Fitzgerald won a great gold in the u15 shot. Girls u17 shot had a trio of Karen O Connor taking gold, Joaleen O Keeffe silver and Ashley Guinan bronze Joaleen had also won gold in the girls u19 long jump and bronze 9in the senior ladies 100m, Karen also won gold in the ladies shot and silver in the ladies Javelin. Laura Crowe won gold in the girls u19 800m and gold in the senior ladies 100m.

The boys sprint while Kall hoffman won bronze in the 100m. In the u9's Roman Loucher also did the club proud. In the u8's Michael O Donnell won silver in the won gold in the 200m and silver in the sprint. Brian Wall won silver in the sprint and Donal Mullins bronze. These boys then teamed up to win a great gold in the u9 relay. Danny Murphy came second in the u9 ball throw. Boys u10 sprint and 400m were won easily by Danny Pierce he also came second in the long jump. Young Danny then helped his team win gold in the u10 relay. Boys u12 Eoghan Sheehy won silver in the sprint and bronze in the long jump, silver in the u13 shot, silver in the u12 relay and gold in the u13 relay. Michael Godley won silver in the u12's 600m silver in the u12's relay and gold in the u13 relay together with Gary Nagle and Bill Mullins. Ciaran Deane won bronze in the 600m with a late burst of speed and silver in the u12 relay. Jamie Lohan won bronze in the u15 shot. In the u16 sprint David Boyd won gold. In the u17's Patrick Phelan won gold in the sprint and gold in the senior men's 100m he also won silver in the u19 long jump. In the u19's Alan O Connor won gold in the sprint, gold in the senior men's shot and came a close second to his father Patsy in the senior 28lbs Patsy had also won gold in the over 40's shot. Aonghus Carmody won silver in the u19 sprint. Last but not least Paul Mullins won a great Silver in the over 40's shot. Well done to all who competed.

A few more results from the Senior Men's Munster Championships last weekend Louis Windenboer gold in the Javelin Patsy O Connor silver in the shot and Patricia O Donnell gold in the 3000m. Apologies to Nelius Daly who won bronze in the 0ver 40's 100m the previous weekend which I didn't know about until last week.

In the colleges events Laura Crowe won gold in both the 300m and 800m. Alan O Connor silver in both the discus and shot and Ger Tobin silver in the 400m relay. Well done to all
