Notes 23/11/04 Last Sunday was the final day of cross country for this season, and boy did we get a true taste of what cross country really means! The weather couldn't have been worse driving rain and wind mud and more up past our knees. But this didn't stop our brave and fearless young athletes. While parents and coach tried to shelter under wind torn umbrellas the first race of the day girls u10 got under way it was a tough round but both Rachel and Nicole Patton ran a tough race to finish well up the field. In the boys u10 Ger Browne put in a very strong finish urged on by Cristo to claim bronze, David Murphy and Brian Hill fought bravely to finish well. In the boys u12 Michael Godley fresh from victory at munster level set the pace from the start and in such difficult conditions he made the win look easy, Eoghan Sheehy found his form and put in a tremendous spurt at the finish to take the silver while Jack Barry brought up from u11 came fourth a great achievement for him, Darragh Carmody and Luke O'Keeffe finished well in the first group Luke having lost a shoe in the final stages! Harriers won county u12 gold in this race. In the girls u14 Ciara Hill took a marvellous bronze after a gruelling race.Well done to all.
