In the juvenile championships in Tullamore last weekend the Girls U 12 ran very well to make the final in a time of 58.1. In the final they produced a very good run to finish 5th behind a very strong winning team from Doneen. Well done to Sinead O Connor, Molly Mc Gilton, Ciara Walsh & Hillary White. Girls U 16 ran well to make the final before finishing outside the medals. On Sunday the meeting was well attended where the weather threatened to pour down on a few occasions but thankfully it stayed dry. Danny Pierce had an excellent championships finishing second overall in the 60m sprints a mere 3 hundredths of a second behind the winner. Danny then went on to win the long jump. A truly superb performance from a rising star that surely has a great future in athletics. Ciaran Boyd threw in the boys u12 ball throw competition and in the face of some stiff competition he did very well in making the final 8 before finishing outside the medals. Our final competitors on the day were the boy's u9 relay team of Cormac Coffey, Brian Hill, David Murphy, Donal Mullins and Gerard Brown. The boys produced a flawless run in their heat to take a comfortable win in a superb time of 32.87.
